Literacy pathways for work and community

This is a course for people with intellectual disability. 

You will develop your literacy skills through the theme of community connection. The course includes guest speakers, excursions and a plan to suit your needs and interests. Skill development in reading, writing and speaking with confidence is developed in this learning context.

This class is followed by the Community Lunch.

  • Time: 10am – 12.30pm
  • Days: Thursdays
  • Dates: 1 February – 22 June 2023 (Semester 1) / 13 July – 14 December 2023 (Semester 2)
  • Cost: $50 for concession per semester / $70 for non-concession per semester

This course can be taken alone or with the Community Lunch and Alive and Active Program.

Community lunch

Enjoy this social gathering and healthy two-course meal providing relief to our diverse community of people with disability or facing hardship.

  • Time: 12:30pm – 1.30pm
  • Days: Thursdays
  • Date: 1 February – 22 June 2023 (Semester 1) / 13 July – 14 December 2023 (Semester 2)
  • Contribution: $50 per term – Free to eligible participants

Alive and Active

Students with disability explore a variety of creative expressions such as art, physical activity, meditation, singing and excursions.

  • Time: 1.30pm – 2.30pm
  • Days: Thursdays
  • Date: 1 February – 22 June 2023 (Semester 1) / 13 July – 14 December 2023 (Semester 2)
  • Contribution: $50 per term – Free to eligible participants
